Woodland Elementary has taken on a new initiative this year to help improve the unity of our Pack. Homerooms will work each day to earn points in recess, lunch, and specials. What makes this program special is that within our one large Woodland Pack, there are four Mini-Packs (Red, Blue, Black, and Green) made up of homerooms from 2nd – 6th grade. If a Mini-Pack happens to meet the goal of the quarter, then they get to earn a reward together!
The program started out with a pep rally with the entire school loaded into our gymnasium. The Lakota East marching band was here as well to provide some true pep rally excitement. In order to select your Pack, teachers were called to the front of the gym where they blindly selected their color from the four provided. Afterwards, we had our first opportunity to earn points: a relay race with representatives, both teachers and students, from each grade level.
Overall, it was a memorable event to help generate some excitement about Woodland, while also helping to provide unity across grade levels.
