Lakota’s new monthly learning series, Family & Parent CommUnity University in partnership with Miami University Voice of America, continues with a session focused on students’ mental and emotional health. Lakota parents, staff and residents are encouraged to attend Saturday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at Miami VOA.

Grant Us Hope CEO Keith Kline will facilitate the morning’s general session, providing education about how to identify the signs of mental and emotional distress and provide support to youth in need. Grant Us Hope is a rising change agent for teen suicide prevention in the Greater Cincinnati region and Lakota’s partner in bringing Hope Squads to all our secondary schools.

Following the general session, Grant Us Hope will also facilitate two smaller and more participatory breakout sessions divided by grades K-6 and 7-12.

Each monthly session is live streamed and includes breakfast, compliments of Overhead Doors, and free childcare provided by student volunteers. The sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. Click here to register for the Oct. 20 session.
